Open Mic Night @ Great Wagon Road Distilling Company 610 Anderson St, Charlotte, NC

I was really nervous driving up to the establishment. Driving past there was a patio full of people, the parking lot was full of cars and there seemed to be a decent amount of people inside. I parked and got out, walked around to the entrance and went inside. There was a guy playing a guitar and he sounded okay. There were tables with people eating, listening, and chatting amongst friends. Pretty cool atmosphere. Behind the guy playing the guitar was a huge mirror facing the crowd and beautiful chandelier hanging above his head. Booths to the left and a bar on the right side of the performer. I got in line and ordered a drink and asked about going on stage for the open mic night. She pointed out a guy named George and I went over and spoke with him about performing. He said he would put my name in the list but I actually didn’t go to read, just check out the spot. He said they love poetry there. I asked about how much time on stage to which he replied 5-6 mins, which is good time on stage. I listened to 2 other performances as I drank my Blue Moon and was about to leave until I heard this lady singing Adele and George was playing guitar. I listened for a minute and spoke to her as well as a another guy who came out. He actually recited a poem he wrote. It was a pretty chill outting and I look forward to going back next Wednesday at 7pm!
