I love watching YouTube but I am very unhappy with the application itself. Most of the apps out here are not worth the money we spend on them. For instance, Netflix, it has more foreign movies than American movies. If I pay for an app to watch movies I would prefer those movies to be in English and not have to read the subtitles. Don’t get me twisted… I love a good foreign movie, but I speak English and so should my TV when I’m watching movies.

YouTube’s problem is that it doesn’t allow you to customize your experience, especially when you watch on TV. There is no way to stop videos that you don’t want to in your feeds no matter how many times you click you don’t like the video. Just because I watch one video by a person doesn’t mean that I want to see their whole playlist! And why do they allow so many YouTubers to jack each other’s videos? I do not want to watch someone’s reaction to a video I already saw. Like go find your own content. All these people are making scary videos but they all have the same scary videos. I thought my girl Loey Lane was an original content provider but I see she has gotten lazy and started jacking other people’s content.

The next about YouTube is the feeds. You have “recently uploaded”, “new to you”, and “recommended” categories just to name a few. Why do they all have the same videos… three different categories with the same ten videos in each one! Even the one from your subscriptions doesn’t show all the current videos from the people you subscribe to. It’s simply ridiculous. I watched one video of Ridiculousness and now seven out of the recently uploaded videos are of that show. The new to you category, when it does have something new, the video is always like a year or two old. They never show new content. They also take your liked videos away and put them in your news feed like you don’t remember watching or you don’t remember you hit that like button!

A few more things that utterly disturb me is the fact that it doesn’t matter how many times you click to pause watch history it stops by itself. The search history turns itself back on as well. I mean it worst than Facebook! Every other week I have go back in and fix my settings. I also don’t like that there is no way for me to chat through the TV or even see the chat. Do they know how hard it is to watch YouTube on your phone or computer just so you can live chat? Ugh!

I am gonna end with this: I do not pay for YouTube, yet. If any of you do and do not experience these problems with your paid account please leave me a response. I need to know if it’s worth the money. The only reason I’m thinking of paying is because I really hate commercials! They love to sneak a twenty minute commercial in on ya.
