New Education System

I recently wrote a blog in which I stated that I would propose a education system. In my experience with children I have learned that they are a lot smarter than we give them credit for. My daughter’s first word wasn’t momma it was clock. Unfortunately I had post partum cardiomyopathy two weeks after I gave birth but thankfully it allowed me to spend time with my daughter during what I feel are the most crucial years of a child’s life.

The school system we have now is not working. The information for one that our children are being taught is tainted. It comes from the opinion of one race and mainly from one gender within that race. That would make everything that we and our children learn biased.

The first step of my proposed plan would be to start kindergarten at 3 yrs old. If we do this children would finish high school at or around the age of 16. Children maintain more and learn more in their earliest years of life, we could use language as an example. The earlier they start learning a second language the more proficient they will be. We all as adults know how hard it is to learn a second language!

Even though the children will graduate by the age of 16 that does not mean I am saying they will be adults. I feel that our children do not come out of high school or college with the necessary tools they need to survive in life. Some of this lacking may come from how they are raised and what additional education and encouragement they are getting from home but if the parents lack the knowledge which most of us do they how can we expect them to have it? Things like opening bank accounts, doing their taxes, applying for business licenses or owning a house. Why do tell our kids that their first place should be an apartment where they will have to pay rent instead of a house which will give them equity? I think what I am proposing will also eliminate conflict between parents, especially in split family homes. Example, one parent may feel like let the child learn from experience while the other parent may want the child to have a more guided life experience.

So what I propose next is that between 16-18 our children attend intermediate school. This would be more like what we adults know as an associates degree. This is where they learn those skills. Not only those skills but others like cooking, sewing, mechanics, advance sex education and computer programming. Trade skills and life skills that will actually help them in life. One of the two years would be an apprenticeship to which the child will receive a stipend. All of the above education should be free to all children of all races. They have been, over the years, eliminating these classes like home economics, shop, and typing. When my daughter was in elementary school I asked the teacher when they were going to learn cursive writing and she replied that’s the parents job! My daughter already know how but I found it strange that they hadn’t starting learning it in school. I remember when I was her age we learned that in school. They don’t even teach kids how to write a signature, these kids print their signature these days or sign electronically.

After intermediate school they can choose at that point to go to a university or enter the work force. Children in sports would have to wait until they finish intermediate school to go professional but they can do the second year as an apprentice (their stipend would be different of course).

Education is the best way to fix a lot of the problems this world. Bringing back the family household dynamic where children are raised by parents… parents actually in the house and not working 80 hours a week. We have to again set boundaries and standards for our children to live by and that starts with the people raising and teaching the children. This is just the beginning of my plan, stay tuned for more.
